Founder / Funeral Director

The Brintlinger family has served Decatur and Macon County since 1883. Dan Brintlinger, a Decatur native, has been a funeral director for 47 years. Dan graduated from MacArthur High School in Decatur, IL in 1963, Illinois Wesleyan University in 1967, and Worsham College of Mortuary Science in 1968. Dan served in the U.S. Air Force Chaplain Service from 1969 to 1971 as a Chapel Manager. He is also a member and past president of the Salvation Army Advisory Board. He is a member of the Central Christian Church of Decatur. Dan is a member of IFDA, NFDA, OGR (past Board member), and past president of the local Lions Club. Dan is married to Nedra Brintlinger and has two sons, Todd and Kirk, and one step-son, Jamie. He enjoys gardening, classical music, old cars and history of U.S. Route 66.

Randy Earl Founder and Funeral Director

Randy Earl is a founder of Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes. He has been a licensed funeral director for more than 50 years. He received his B.S. in Business from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1963 and graduated from the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science the following year. Randy has committed to the funeral service profession on both a state and national level. He has served the Illinois Funeral Directors Association in a variety of capacities, including secretary, vice president and president of the association’s board of directors. He was also the President of NFDA from 2011 to 2012.

Bryan Mose Funeral Director

Managing Funeral Director

Bryan Mose was born and raised in Shelbyville, IL. He taught high school in Springfield for 16 years before becoming a funeral director. He is a member of the Illinois Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. Bryan earned Bachelors and Masters degrees from Eastern Illinois University and earned his mortuary education from Vincennes University, Vincennes, Indiana. He became a funeral director to help people in a professional manner, provide options to celebrate and honor lives and to respond to ever-changing needs in human service. Bryan is married to his wife, Jennifer and has four daughters and two stepsons. He attends First Christian Church in Decatur. Service organizations include Stephen Decatur Masonic Lodge #979 AF & AM, Jackson Lodge #53 AF & AM in Shelbyville, and Land of Lincoln Honor Flight. Bryan enjoys spending time with family, DIY projects and cooking.

Funeral Director

Lanie is a proud Cerro Gordo native. She graduated from Cerro Gordo High School and went on to Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, IL. She graduated with High Honors and received her degree in Mortuary Science. She is licensed in both Indiana and Illinois as a Funeral Director/Embalmer. Lanie is a member of the Illinois Funeral Directors Association, Indiana Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association. She now lives in Indiana with her partner, Garrett, their son, Chett; and three dogs: Gunner, Waylon, and Puddin. Lanie enjoys going to dirt car and Indy races, hosting cookouts, and spending time with her family.

Bookkeeper & Receptionist

Betty is the bookkeeper and receptionist for the funeral home and has served in that capacity for fifteen years. She is married to her husband Jeff and they have two children, Sam and Mary. Betty was raised on a farm near Stonington, IL with eight brothers and sisters. She is the daughter of Larry and Pat Curtin. Betty lived in Ottawa, KS for seven years and served as the Administrative Secretary to the President of Ottawa University and as the Secretary to the University’s Academic Dean. Betty is a member of St. Mary’s Church in Taylorville and enjoys boating, going to auctions and remodelling homes.
