Zelma Evelyn (Kretsinger) Moody, 91, of Decatur, passed away June 20, 2016, in St. Mary’s Hospital.She was born January 6, 1925, in Taylorville, Illinois to the late Clifford and Anna (Bell) Krestinger.She attended Browns Business College and worked at the ammo bunkers in Illiopolis during WWII. She married Vern Edwin Myers in 1945. They had four sons before Vern was killed in a tragic car accident in 1953. Zelma married Thomas Harold Moody in 1960, who adopted her sons as his own.She was preceded in death by her husband: Vern Myers, husband: Thomas Moody, brother: Clifford Kretsinger, sister: Veda (Kretsinger) Cole, and great granddaughter: Angela Reese.She is remembered with love by her son Ronald E. Moody and his wife Karen, son Donald E. Moody and his wife Barbara, son Robert E. Moody and his wife Sally, son Michael E. Moody, her sister Gloria (Kretsinger) Smith and her husband Robert, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, as well as step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, step great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Zelma had been a member of First Baptist Church in Decatur for more than 50 years. She loved her family, loved to laugh, play cards, garden, travel and golfing with Tom.Visitation will be at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 24 followed by a funeral service at the funeral home chapel at 2:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Macon County Memorial Park in Harristown.The family would like to thank Glenwood Assisted Living, Fair Havens Christian Nursing Home, St. Mary’s ER (Jack Pugh) and 4th Floor West Wing for lovingly caring for Zelma.
