Wilma Spriggs Sanner, age 85 of Decatur passed away July 23, 2017 in Forsyth, Illinois. Services to celebrate Wilma's life will be Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 11:30am at IOOF Cemetery in Moweaqua, Illinois with Pastor Sharon Treptow officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7pm on Monday, July 31, 2017 at the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, 2827 N. Oakland Ave., Decatur, IL. July 11, 1953 she married Robert E Sanner in the First Methodist Church in Moweaqua. Bob was in the US Air Force when they married and they spent the first year of their marriage in San Bernardino, California. They returned to Illinois in 1954 and settled briefly in Springfield, Illinois. From there Wilma made several moves including to Utica, New York, to Decatur, Illinois, to Muscatine, Iowa and eventually back to Decatur, Illinois. Throughout the years she actively volunteered with several organizations with missions of helping local communities and women, including Junior Welfare, Republican Women, AAUW, Hospital Auxiliary and PEO. Her passions were playing the piano for her own enjoyment and for her friends and travelling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sanner in 2011, and her mother and father. She is survived by her daughter, Lori Sanner of Moweaqua, sons Jim Sanner of North Carolina and Randall Sanner and wife Margo of San Diego, California, and grandsons Craig Sanner and David Sanner, both of San Diego. Special thanks to the Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California, to the Fountains at the Carlotta in Palm Desert, California, and to Hickory Point Christian Village in Forsyth, Illinois for the loving care they each provided.
