Wilma Redman

Wilma Jean Redman, 88, of Decatur, IL, died 7:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at her residence. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 12, 2014, at 1st United Methodist Church, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Township Cemetery, Mt. Zion, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to 1st United Methodist Church or DMH Hospice. Wilma was born September 25, 1925 in Normal, IL, the daughter of Arthur and Amelia (Miller) Wertz. She married William E. "Eme" Redman on May 26, 1946 in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death on September 1, 1999. Wilma was a member of 1st United Methodist Church. She worked at Mississippi Valley Structural Steel, operated a beauty shop from her home and later worked in the lunch room at Decatur Public Schools. Since retirement, Wilma was an active volunteer at DMH Thrift Shop, Fair Haven Nursing Home, and enjoyed quilting and studying scripture at 1st United Methodist Church. She is survived by her sons David W. Redman and wife Susan H. of Bloomington, IL, Ronald L. Redman and wife Kathie of Ada, MI; grandchildren Kendra Kuo and husband Edward of Ada, MI, Troy Redman and wife Courtney of Grand Rapids, MI; great grandchildren Andy Kuo and Alex Kuo of Ada, MI, and Garrett Redman of Grand Rapids, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff and friends at Tanglewood Village for their support and loving care of Wilma. "
