Wilma Pherigo

Wilma C. Pherigo, 92, of Champaign, IL, formerly of Decatur, IL, passed away at 12:52 PM, Wednesday, March 28, 2018.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 31, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in McClimans Cemetery, Hallsville, IL. Memorials may be made to DMH Hospice or to a food bank of your choice.Wilma was born November 24, 1925, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Percy and Elizabeth (Haensel) Cox. She married Floyd R. Pherigo May 30, 1950 in Clinton, IL. He preceded her in death October 1, 1993.Wilma was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She loved Jesus, helping other people and the Chicago Cubs. Wilma was an R.N. in the surgical department at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was a member and volunteer nurse for DMH Hospice.Surviving are her sons: Michael Gene Pherigo of Clinton, IL and Steven Dean Pherigo and wife Patricia of Champaign, IL; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her siblings.
