Wilma M. Funk, 88, of Lovington, left this life surrounded by family on Friday, January 6, 2012, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 9, 2012, at the Brethren Church of Cerro Gordo, Cerro Gordo, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday, January 8, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Cerro Gordo, IL. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Mrs. Funk was born June 4, 1923, in Craigville, IN, the daughter of Orval and Edith Barger. She married Farrell B. Funk in November of 1945, in Noblesville, IN. He preceded her in death February 9, 1980. Mrs. Funk was a member of the Brethren Church of Cerro Gordo, and was very involved in her local church for many years, including the W.M.S., and she especially enjoyed quilting with the ladies of the church. During her working days, she was employed at Betzer Hardware and Peterson Market in Cerro Gordo. Mrs. Funk has called Friendship Hill home for almost two years. She leaves behind to celebrate her life, her children: Glen (Judy) Funk of Moweaqua, Neta Funk of Decatur, Rita (Leon) Turner of Sullivan, Teresa (John) Schooley of Cerro Gordo, Maxine (Bob) Welchlin of Overland Park, KS; grandchildren: Todd and Mark Funk, Jason Turner, Laura Click, Stephany Caldwell, Stacy Witts, Malissa and Nathan Welchlin; great grandchildren: Elizabeth, Shannon, Colin (deceased), Jacob, Holden, Olivia, and Kasydi; siblings: Virgean Bowers and Helen (Otto) Thieme of Decatur, IN, Mildred Riley of Monroe, IN, and Richard (Marge) Barger of Craigville, IN. Mrs. Funk was also preceded in death by two sisters. "
