Visitation: 5:00 PM on August 01, 2011 Funeral: 10:00 AM on August 02, 2011 Willis Earl Barger Jr., 64, of Decatur, IL, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, July 28, 2011 surrounded by his family. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 1, from 5-8pm at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Services will be held on Tuesday, August 2, at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL, with full military rites. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation. Willis was born on November 17, 1946, in Decatur, IL, the son of Willis Sr. and Aileen (Hedrick) Barger. He married Linda Dieckmeyer in 1968. Willis worked as a Terminal Manager for a trucking company. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and coaching youth baseball and softball. Willis was a U.S. Marines veteran, serving two tours in Vietnam and was awarded a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda of Decatur, IL; daughters Julie (Doug) Gietl of Highland, IL, Kristin (Jathan) Portis of Decatur, IL; son Eric (Erica) Barger of Sierra Vista AZ; 4 granddaughters; brother Larry (Ruth Ann) Barger of Rockford, IL; sister Carol (Alan) Reynolds of Decatur, IL; mother Aileen Barger of Decatur, IL. Willis was a loving husband, father, and grandfather to all. The family wishes to thank all the doctors and staff that took such good care of him over the years.
