William (Bill) Franklin Wilson, 90, Decatur, IL entered the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at 5:00 AM, June 6, 2010 at Imboden Living Center.Funeral services will be at 10 AM Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be Friday evening, June 11th from 6 - 8 PM at the funeral home and one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Riverside Baptist Church.William was born June 10, 1919 to William H. Wilson and Dora Mae Wilson in Decatur, IL. He was the youngest of four children born to this union. He served his country in the U.S. Army for 4 years and was a World War II Veteran. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor in the Panama Canal Zone where he was injured and hospitalized several months before being discharged. He received the American Defense Medal and Good Conduct Medal.William retired in 1981 from A.E. Staley Manufacturing after 35 years 9 months of service. He worked as a centrifuge operator in the 44 building. He always wore a white T shirt to work and his fellow workers nicknamed him T Shirt.William was a born again Christian and a member of Riverside Baptist Church for many years where he has served as a trustee and on the Advisory Committee. He also drove the church bus for Awana Clubs and other trips. Previous to that he was a member of the Salem Baptist Church where he was an ordained deacon.William is survived by: his wife Helen L. Wilson of 66 years; his son Ronald L. Wilson of Phoenix, AZ; daughter Patricia A. Hall and son-in-law Terry of Forsyth, IL; four grandchildren- Mark Hall (Shauna) of Harristown, IL; Michelle (David) Edwards of Springfield, IL; William R. Wilson (Blanka) US Army serving in Germany and Cody Wilson of Phoenix, AZ; three great-grandchildren - Madeline Hall of Heyworth, IL; Bailey Edwards and Baby Boy Edwards (due in September) of Springfield, IL; brother JR and sister-in-law Doris Bailey of Moweaqua, IL and many nieces and nephews. His parents and one brother and two sisters preceded him in death.Bill was a very hard worker, loved working in his yard, and flowers and vegetable gardens here and many winters in Florida. He loved to ride his Honda Gold Wing motorcycle and see Gods beautiful country. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.The family would like to thank Dr. Dennis Heim and Dr. Anthony McCormick and the wonderful caring staff at Imboden Creek Living Center.
