William Glenn "Bill" Williams of Decatur, IL, died Friday, January 9, 2015, after a brief illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 12, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with burial following the Mass at Boiling Springs Cemetery. According to Bill's wishes, there will be no visitation. Instead, immediately after the burial, the family invites Bill's friends to meet at Curly's, where Bill made many happy memories entertaining his friends. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, are assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. Teresa High School. Bill was born in Springfield, Illinois in 1928. He was a graduate of St. Teresa High School in 1947. In 1950, he married Eleanor Parks and would have celebrated 65 years of marriage this summer. Bill owned and operated Williams Dental Lab for 50 years until his retirement. An avid golfer, he played weekly until shortly before his death. He was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree. In his later years, Bill took up oil painting and it became a much loved hobby. Bill was a man of deep faith. He briefly entered the seminary to become a Catholic priest, before leaving to marry and raise a family. But his faith was always important to him and was an inspiration to those who knew him. Bill is survived by his wife, Eleanor, his children: Ann Dawson (Pat), Jill Taylor, Kerry Williams (Corrinne), Erin Miller (Dave); his grandchildren: Sean Dawson, Jill Jedd (Steve), Julie Mower (Josh), Kevin Taylor (Jan), Tim Taylor, Allisen Barclift (Chris), Emily Williams, Molly Williams, Cori Fagan (Daniel), Katie Bookman (Daniel); great grandchildren: Addison, Andrew, Brannan, Madolyne, Anna, Lillian, Elizabeth, Mason, Taylee, and Raelynn. He has long anticipated the day of his reunion in Heaven with his son Kevin and grandson Andrew. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Hickory Point Christian Village for the loving and compassionate care they gave him during his last few days. A special thanks is also offered to Dave and Sherry Slade for their special friendship, and their devotion to him during his final days. "
