William A. "Bill" Sutman, 84, of Decatur, IL, died 5:45 A.M., Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, March 9, 2012, at Prairie Avenue Christian Church, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be 5 to 7 P.M., Thursday, March 8, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Blue Mound, IL., with graveside military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials: Prairie Ave. Christian Church. Bill was born November 24, 1927, in Decatur, IL, the son of Roy Frank and Helen Catherine (Dean) Sutman. He married Charlotte F. Wright on June 20, 1953 in Latham, IL. At the beginning of his career in television sales and service, he had formerly worked at Byers TV, Bayless TV and the former General Electric plant. Bill then opened his own business, B&C TV, in 1962 and later moved the store to the corner of So. Jasper and E. Cantrell Sts. in 1974, where it remains today. Bill was a member of Prairie Avenue Christian Church, where he was very active in various positions, including Deacon Emeritus, chairman of church board and other offices. He was a life member of Elks #401, the Odd Fellows lodge, and Castle Williams Post #105, American Legion. Bill also sponsored bowling teams at Pla-Mor Lanes and a women's bowling team at The Bowl on E. Pershing Road. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving in WWII. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Charlotte: of Decatur, IL; children: Barb (Dane) Hodges, Greg Sutman, all of Decatur, IL; grandchildren: Stephanie Hodges and fiancé Geoff Peoples, Wade, Reed, Allison, and Chase Sutman, all of Decatur; brother: Robert Sutman of Harrisburg, IL; one sister: Eileen (Jim) Cook of Laurel Hill, Florida, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, three brothers, and one daughter, Marilyn. "
