William Stogner

William G. Stogner, 86, of Decatur, IL, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at his residence.Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 22, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, July 21, with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m., at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL, with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard.William was born December 24, 1929 in Tylertown, Mississippi, the son of Jasper C. and Maxie (Fortenberry) Stogner. He married Mary Anne Smethers on September 17, 1963 in Decatur, IL.William was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He worked for Wagner Castings in the Medical Department, before retiring after 25 years. William was a U.S. Air Force veteran and U.S. Army veteran.He is survived by his wife Mary Anne of 52 years; children Claire M. Stogner of Charleston, SC, Mike Stogner and wife Kim of Decatur, Joseph W. Stogner of Charleston, SC, Steven C. Stogner and wife Cristie of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Morgan, Blake, Ryan, Alexis, Emilie, and Tyler.He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, three sisters, and daughter Elizabeth.The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion of William. "
