William Reece

William E. “Jeep” Reece, 96, of Decatur, IL, passed away Friday, October 26, 2018, at Imboden Creek Living Center. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Monday, October 29, at Calvary Baptist Church with visitation from 9:00 am until service time. Burial will be at 3:00 pm, Monday, in Old Shiloh Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, IL. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, is assisting the family with the arrangements. William was born February 19, 1922, in Mt. Vernon, IL, son of William Bryan and Ruth Jane (Williams) Reece. He married Dorothy Hicks on March 21, 1942, in Mt. Vernon. She preceded him in death on May 9, 2008. William was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII. He retired as an operator from PPG. Surviving are his daughters: Linda Jean Reece and Marsha Kay Carter; grandchildren: Amy Kirk, Brian Kirk, Adam Buxton and Erin Buxton, Kresta Braswell, Seth and Saria Saccocio; great-grandchildren: Jessie Kirk, Justin Kirk, Grace Buxton, Brooks Buxton, Carter Saccocio, Ella Saccocio, Leelynn Braswell, Lynnlee Braswell; and sister: Shirley Ann Kelley. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters: Eileen DeVivo and Mary Piercey, brother: Allen Reece; and son-in-law: Steven Carter.
