William Powell

Memorial services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 12, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Per Mr. Powells wishes, he will be buried at sea. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.Mr. Powell was born July 27, 1924, in East St. Louis, IL, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William John Powell. He worked as a regional sales manager for a heavy equipment manufacturing company. He was a U.S. Marine Corp. veteran, having served in WWII. Mr. Powell was a life member of the NRA and the American Legion.He is survived by his children: Carla Jean Meyer and husband John of Quincy, IL; Alana Dean Adoff and husband Richard of Irvine, CA; Barton Jay Powell of Hanover Park, IL; Debra Dee Sobeski and husband Donald of Acworth, GA; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, son Gunnar Powell, and brother Eugene.Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com "
