William C. Peter Jr.

William C. “Bill” Peter Jr. passed away on February 21, 2026.

Visitation will be held 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, March 2, 2026, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Decatur, IL, with a visitation one hour prior from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the church. Burial will follow at Buchanan Cemetery in Herrick, IL. Memorials in Bill’s honor may be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church or Buchanan Cemetery.

Bill Peter Jr. was born January 30, 1940, to William “Pete” Peter Sr. and Ruby (Clark) Peter. He married Brenda Horsman on July 2, 1970.

He served his country in the U.S. Army. He was the owner of Peter’s Haus of Meat and was very active with the Decatur Small Business Council. Bill was a longtime Lutheran and member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, and a graduate assistant for Dale Carnegie Courses.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda; daughter, Stephanie Napier; grandson, Andrew (Lexi Knight) Napier; two nephews; three nieces; aunt, Ardith Capshaw; sister-in-law Jo Ann Trusner; and extended family Joshua and Heather Urbanowitz, and sons Hunter and Bryan.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents and sister Sharon Ferre.
