William Parsons

William L. “Bill” Parsons, Jr. 86, of Decatur, IL, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Lincolnshire Place, Decatur. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 22, at Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, December 21, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association or Lincolnshire Memory Care. Bill was born August 17, 1932, in Decatur, IL, the son of William Louis, Sr. and Anola Jeanette (Doren) Parsons. He married Patsy Jean Beck on June 4, 1960 in Decatur ,IL. Bill worked at Caterpillar Inc., retiring in 1989. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, ginseng hunting, gold panning, and woodworking. Bill was a volleyball player,Hummingbird whisperer, and a past member of the Macon County Rock Hound Club. He is survived by his daughters Penny (Patrick) McBride of Decatur and Melanie (Chris) Allen of Oakley; grandson Brody Allen of Decatur; nephew Jason Parsons of Oreana; and several nieces scattered around the United States. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Patsy, and brother Lane Parsons.
