Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation two hours prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to Cancer Care Specialists or St. Johns Hospice.William was born November 20, 1926 in Joliet, IL, the son of Kenneth and Tincie A. (Shook) McCoskey. He married Norma Jean Rokash on June 26, 1948. She preceded him in death on May 26, 2010.William was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church. He worked at Caterpillar for 30 years, retiring as Supervisor in 1985. William was also a courier for St. Marys Hospital and was known as Hospital Bill. He loved boating, fishing, was an avid Cubs fan, and loved his grandchildren and family very much. William was a Pilgrim of the Moose and held the office of State Representative of the Moose. He was a WWII Navy veteran, serving on the USS Lexington and USS Princeton.He is survived by his children William L. McCoskey and wife Sally of Decatur, IL, Pamela Chandler of Decatur, IL, Donna OLaughlin and husband Kevin of Decatur, IL, Stephen L. McCoskey and wife Vicki of Billings, MT; grandchildren Amy (Jay Beagles) McCoskey, William P. McCoskey and wife Petra, Kenneth McCoskey, and Brian McCoskey and wife Jennifer, Thomas and Timothy OLaughlin, Taylor, Heather and Michael McCoskey; great grandchildren Bradon, Erin, Ava, and Liam McCoskey.He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Rademacher, Debbie Fleming, St. Johns Hospice and St. Marys Hospital Respiratory Care staff, especially Johnnie Willis, Toni Ellison, and St. Marys Extended Care Marge Castellie.
