Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.Bill was born August 28, 1942 in Decatur, IL, the son of William Arthur and Dorothy Isabelle (Coleman) Lowry. He married Sheila R. Luechtefeld on July 6, 1984 in Decatur, IL.Bill retired from Durham School Services after many years of service. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving 10 years, to include 2 tours in Vietnam. Bill was an avid treasure hunter, musician, fisherman, hunter and #1 race fan of Dirty 30/Blake Shelly at Macon Speedway. Bill played music for many years and loved his family and friends dearly, which included his boxers - Sammy and Dolly. He is survived by his wife Sheila of Decatur, IL; children William Dale Lowry, Jr. and fiancee Ranee of Raymore, MO, Robert Dean Lowry of Harrison, AR, Kristina Shelly and husband Blake of Oakley, IL, Joseph Lowry of Decatur, IL; 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; brothers Phillip Lowry and wife Marilyn of OH, Ronald (Jim) Lowry of Decatur, IL; sister Sandra Kornewald of Macon, IL; special sister in-law Linda Houser of Decatur, IL; many nieces and nephews; best friends Mike Droll of Decatur, IL and Gary Hoover of Urbana, IL; special friends Linda Brandon and Bill Boedecker of Decatur, IL, Jim and Susie Pound of Decatur, IL.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and great nephew Timmy.
