William Fuiks

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, September 5, 2009, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur, IL, with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard.Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association or Homeward Bound Pet Shelter.Bill was born September 29, 1928, in Memphis, TN, the son of Jack and Cybil (Lynn) Fuiks. He married Eleanor Jane Humphrey on July 3, 1949 in Glenwood, Iowa.Bill worked for General Services Administration as a Property Manager for the Kansas City District, retiring after 25 years. He graduated from Rockhurst College with a Bachelors Degree in Business. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran, serving from 1945-1948, and a Veteran of the U.S. Naval Reserves.He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eleanor; daughter Cheryl (Richard) Chamblin; son Michael (Kasia) Fuiks; grandchildren David (Kim) Wasserkrug, Jonathan (Heather) Wasserkrug, Mara Fuiks; great grandchildren Hannah, Ava, Leyton and Alex Wasserkrug; 5 nieces and nephews; brother Jack (Carol) Forest.He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Marie and brother Max Fuiks.
