William "Bill" F. Fryman, of Decatur, IL, passed away on May 21, 2014. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation two hours prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois or Donor's Choice. Bill was born in 1926 to Lilly Margaret (Anthony) Fryman and Cecil Fryman in Cowley County, Kansas. He married Verneal Jane Rentfro on January 9, 1949. Bill served in the Army Air Force in the 1940's. He worked for A.E. Staley for 37 years, retiring in 1983. At the time of his retirement he was part of the plant maintenance management team. Bill Fryman loved the outdoors! He enjoyed gardening at home and loved camping and boating at Lake Shelbyville. Bill was most happy when he was with family, especially his sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Verneal Jane; sons William Michael (Diane) Fryman, Doug (Dina) Fryman, John (Patricia) Fryman, Steve (Becky) Fryman, all of Decatur; and daughter-in-law Linnea Fryman-Viniard. William's surviving grandchildren are Kelly Fryman (Adam Milledge, fiancé) of Columbia, SC, Ellen ( Mel) Bower of Carbondale, IL, Hillary Fryman (Roger Alexander, fiancé) of Springfield, IL, Molly Fryman of Oxford, MS, Matthew Fryman of Decatur, IL, Bradley Fryman of Normal, IL, Connor Fryman of Decatur, IL, Will Fryman of Calvert City, KY, and Tiffany Fryman of Decatur; great grandchildren Lillian Alexander and Brennan Bower. Bill is also survived by his sister Virginia Alexander of Smyrna, TN and nieces Cecilia (Dick) Peach of Smyrna, TN, Nancy (Bob) Krieger of Decatur, IL and Teri (Randy) Meece of Decatur, IL. Mr. Fryman was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, and son Thomas Fryman. Bill Fryman's family wish to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of FairHavens Christian Home, Dr. Esparaz, and Safe Haven Hospice for their many weeks of caring for Bill during his illness.
