William Gerald “Jerry” Ford, 81, of Decatur, passed away May 25, 2025 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Private family services will be held. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Jerry was born January 31, 1944 in Decatur the son of Jesse Monroe and Doris Eileen (Dodson) Ford. He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force. Jerry married Judy Toth on October 7, 1967. He worked for almost 40 years for Ashland Chemical, retiring as an operator. Jerry loved to play golf and later enjoyed coaching girls softball with Desert Hot Springs and Rancho Mirage teams in California. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Moose Lodge.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Judy; children: Rhonda Scammahorn, Roland Teeters, Boomer (Nancy) Ford and Randy (Amy) Ford; grandchildren: Amber (Matt) Hight, Amy (Brock) Davis, Hannah (Corey) Blair, Jacob Ford, Aaron (Melanie) Ford, Jesse Ford, Austin Mundwiler, Rachel Ford, Joseph Ford, and Jayden Ford; great-grandchildren: Kellen, Teagan, Dominic, Keaton, Adaline, Thomas, Emery, Tessa, Liam, Bennett, Noah, and Christian.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Paul Ford.
