William Cooper

William A. Cooper, 66, of Decatur, IL passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 in his residence surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 4, 2016 in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be held from 11:00 - 1:00 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the ALS Association or DMH Hospice.William was born February 22, 1950 in Decatur, IL, the son of Robert I. and Wilma Dean (Jones) Cooper. He married Pam Teschner on September 6, 1975 in Decatur, IL and she survives. William was a previous owner of Cooper Brothers Construction, and worked hard in the operation of the business. He enjoyed old cars, including his Corvette. He also enjoyed gardening, yard work and loved NASCAR, especially Jimmy Johnson. William treasured time with his family and friends. William is survived by his wife of 41 years, Pam; daughter, Angi Cooper (fiancée John Haksasila) of Decatur ; son, Shane Richardson (fiancée Lynn Sledge) of Decatur; grandchildren, Landyn Haksasila, Victor Sledge, Mikayla Sledge, and Sam Sledge; brother, Bob (Donna) Cooper of Decatur; and nephews Jason and Jeremy Cooper; special friends, Jim, Cecil, Dick, Shawn, Danny and Roy as well as many others; and his precious dog Daphne.William was preceded in death by his parents and a niece Jami Cooper. The Cooper family would like to extend a special thank you to Barb and Sandy with DMH Hospice; Dr. Carolyn Wagner and staff; Dr. Anthony Collins and staff and Mark Calmes, Heather and Mary with the ALS Association for their excellent care.
