William Burdine

William “Bill” O. Burdine, Jr., 74, of Decatur, IL, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018.Memorial services will be 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, with visitation two hours prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to the Spinal Bifida Foundation. Bill was born March 27, 1943, in Decatur, IL, the son of William Oakley Burdine, Sr. and Denzil (Sanders). He married Sandra Kay Haney in Decatur, IL, and she preceded him in death.Bill worked at Firestone for 35 years and was a member of the Illinois National Guard. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, drag racing, and other sports. Bill also enjoyed putting model cars together.He is survived by his stepson Mark (Amanda) O’Laughlin of Decatur; grandchildren Corey O’Laughlin, Courtney (Cody) Six; great grandchildren Bently O’Laughlin and Emma Six; sisters Betty Joan Black of Macon, Janice Hurtt of Warrensburg; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Sandra.Condolences and memories may be shared with the family in care of Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes at www.brintlingerandearl.com "
