William "Billy" M. Grandon Jr.

William “Billy” Monkota Grandon Jr., 49, of Assumption, passed away January 4, 2026, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2026, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, in Decatur. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, in Assumption. Memorials may be made to the First National Bank of Pana for an education fund for Amelia.

Billy was born on September 27, 1976, the son of William and Linda (Walters) Grandon Sr. He graduated from Niantic-Harristown High School in 1994. He married Danielle Jones on October 22, 2016, in Niantic, IL.

Billy worked as a lead driller at SKS Engineers, in Decatur and as a truck driver for Cardinal Logistics, in Arthur, Bulkmatic, in Decatur and Nussbaum Transportation, in Normal. He also worked for Roberts & Downey Chapel Equipment of Argenta, although he was a jack of all trades his greatest achievement was building the bier to hold President Reagan’s casket. He enjoyed woodworking, grilling, smoking and barbecuing meat. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed hanging out in his man cave.

He is survived by his wife- Danielle Grandon of Assumption; daughter- Amelia Grandon of Assumption; father- William Grandon Sr. of Atlanta, IL; mother- Linda (Gale Collins) Grandon of Decatur; sister- Jamie (Heath) Jackson of Decatur; step-sisters- Carmen Lacy of Decatur and Tiffany (Dave) Sloan of Atlanta, IL; nieces and nephews- Alexis, Levi, Annabel, Aliza, Matt, Luke, Sam and Charlee; and brother-in-law- Cliff (Danielle) Jones.

He was preceded in death by his step-mother-Karen Grandon, grandparents- George and Ann Grandon and Bob and Margaret Walters and aunt- Kathy Dickerson.

Billy will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was known by many and was always down for a good time.
