William (Bill) James Barker, 93, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016 at his daughter’s home in Morris, IL.The family is being assisted by Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur.William was born April 24, 1923 in Bloomington, Illinois the son of Marvin Avery Barker and Eliza Pauline (Jamison) Barker.William graduated from Kirkwood High School, Kirkwood, Missouri and enlisted November 7, 1942 in the Air Corps. He was stationed at Sheppard Field, Texas and Orlando, Florida. He served at the Eighth Air Force Fighter Station, England. Cpl Barker was in the mess section of Brigadier General Jesse Auton’s 65th Fighter Wing.He married Peggy Morris on March 3, 1945 at Worthing, Sussex, England. She preceded him in death in 2007. He then married Lily Adelaide (Townsend) Bulla on February 1, 2009. She preceded him in death in 2014.William was retired from the Norfolk and Western Railroad, Decatur, IL.William leaves behind his daughter Carol (Barker) Frazier and her husband, Urban, of Morris, grandchildren Jeffrey (Lisa) Frazier of Naperville, David (Cheryl) Frazier of Joliet and great grandchildren Evan, Ella and Katie of Naperville and Prestan and Shawn of Joliet, brother Richard Barker of Balwin, Mo and sister Betty Bopp of St. Clair, Mo. He also leaves behind Mark (Dana) Bulla of Decatur and Sue (Les) Albert of Ramsey.William was reunited in Heaven with his parents, 3 brothers (Marvin, Paul, Joseph) and 3 sisters (Bernadine, June, Mary).
