William "Bill" Alsup

October 13, 1947 — March 19, 2024

William “Bill” Edward Alsup, 76, of Warrensburg, passed away from this earthly life into the arms of Jesus at 5:30 AM, March 19, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.

Bill was born October 13, 1947 in Decatur, the son of Raymond and Johnita (Shewmaker) Alsup.. He married his soulmate Toni Jean Paulavish on July 12, 1975 in Warrensburg.

Bill graduated from Warrensburg-Latham High School and attended Lincoln College. He worked at York Borg-Warner, Prairie Farms Ice Cream and retired from Mitsubishi Motors of America. Bill was the #1 fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Warrensburg-Latham Cardinals.  Some of his favorite summer vacation pastimes were traveling to visit as many National Parks as possible. Along the way, he enjoyed stopping at antique malls and flea markets. Another favorite hobby was fishing when he could.  He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Bill is survived by his wife of 48 years, Toni Alsup of Warrensburg; sons: Scott (Cindy) Harrelson of Latham, and Christopher (Julie) Alsup of Warrenton, VA; daughters: Sarah Alsup of Cabool, MO and Tawnya Alsup (fiancé, Tim Clemmons) of Creve Coeur, IL; brother, Jeff (Marcia) Alsup of Decatur; grandchildren: Stephen Watkins, Joshuah Pritchett, Hailey Pritchett, Amerika Clemmons, Audrey Alsup, and Caroline Alsup; and great-grandchildren: Oakleigh Montgomery and Aurora Watkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janet (Alsup) Camp; infant sister, Judy Alsup and infant granddaughter, Alsup-Pritchett.

A family service will be held at a later date at Illini Congregational Church in Warrensburg with burial at Illini Cemetery. Memorials in Bill’s honor may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 205 N Williamsburg Dr Suite D, Bloomington, IL 61704.

Bills family wishes to extend a special thank-you to the nurses and staff at Gentiva Hospice for all of their care and compassion for him.
