Edward Wayne Schroeder Jr.

Edward Wayne "Sonny" Schroeder Jr, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025.

Wayne was born to Ruth and Wayne Schroeder on June 21, 1952. He graduated from Lake Forest Academy and continued his studies at Beloit College and Millikin University. Sonny was a gentle soul who cared deeply about all things in nature. He was an avid reader fascinated by philosophy and world religions. The Bible, which was his mainstay, brought him great comfort throughout his life.

Sonny is survived by his sisters Susan Cobb and husband John of Urbana, IL; Marianne Wigert and husband Dennis of Evergreen, CO; and Anne Schroeder and husband Dimitry Poretsky of Dallas, TX. He leaves behind several nieces, a nephew, and great nieces and great nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ruth Madden Schroeder and E. Wayne Schroeder Sr.

The family wishes to thank all of those who helped Sonny through the years with a special appreciation to the staff at Hillsboro Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Hillsboro, IL.

Private family services will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Decatur, IL. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
