Wayne Bickes

Wayne was born June 18, 1932, in Decatur, IL, the son of Brownie B. and Irma (Shutter) Bickes. He married Sandy Brumley on December 2, 1966 in Decatur, IL. Wayne graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Illinois, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Illinois School of Law. After graduation from law school, he joined the firm of Rosenberg and Rosenberg, and became a partner in the firm. Wayne was a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers, American Bar Association, Illinois Bar Association, and the Decatur Bar Association. In 2018 he retired from Bickes, Wilson, & Moss, after serving as an attorney for over 50 years. Wayne had a love of the law and playing golf. He was a very talented pianist and an avid Bears fan. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by his wife Sandy of 52 years; children Kurt B. (Wendy) Bickes of Decatur, Barry B. Bickes of Satillo, MS, Timothy L. Bickes of Decatur; grandchildren Christopher R. (Danielle) Meurlot of Forsyth, Casey W. Bickes (fiancée Jessi Moyle) of TN, Cory A. (Hannah) Bickes of Forsyth, Shelby J. Bickes (fiancé Thomas Toole) of Satillo, MS, Kellie M. Bickes of Satillo, MS; great-grandchildren Lilliana and Cullen. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, and one brother.
