Warren G. Campbell, 82, of Decatur, IL, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital.Cremation rites to be accorded. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, are assisting the family.Warren was born September 18, 1934, in Chicago, IL, son of George M. and Florence Caroline (Roth) Campbell. He married Phillis L. Nash on June 29, 1962 in Coal City, IL.Warren worked at Caterpillar in Joliet, IL for 36 years, retiring in 1996. He enjoyed computers, electronics, photography, reading, and writing news stories for the Wilmington Advocate newspaper. Warren was an avid garage saler. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Phillis of Decatur; son: Jeff Campbell and wife Nancy of Oreana, IL; daughter: Janice Campbell of Paducah, KY; grandchildren: Courtney Campbell, Christina Campbell, both of Oreana, Zach McKanna, Brittani McKanna, both of Wilmington, IL, Andrew Heatherwick and fiancée Kenzie of DeKalb, IL; great-granchildren: Abby, Bellah and Caleb, all of Wilmington, IL; brother: George Campbell and wife Shirley of Channahon, IL.Warren was preceded in death by his parents.
