Wanda I. Roberts died Friday November 30th at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home Decatur, IL. with visitation from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday Dec. 5, 2012. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Memorials may be made to: American Cancer Society or Sunnyside Road Church of Christ. She was born September 11th, 1920 in Atlanta, IL to Roscoe and Vernie Shetler. She was preceeded in death by her parents, and siblings, Nelson Shetler, Velma Robley, Edith Price, Arlena Wilhelm, Majora Mayhew. She is survived by one sister, Lovita Vannier of Omaha, Nebraska. She married George Robinson of Findlay, IL on November 11, 1943. He was killed in action somewhere in Italy during WWII in February 1944. She was presented The Congressional Service Medal posthumously for his actions that led to his death. She married Andrew J. (Buss) Roberts in October 1945. He was Co-Owner of Fleener & Roberts Garage in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death in 1984. Together they were parents of Linda Wing who died in 1980 and a surviving son, D.R. Roberts (wife Ann) of Decatur. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren; Jeremy Wing, Jason Wing (wife Julie) of Ft. Smith AR, Joy Wing Powell (husband Scott) of Fayetteville, AR, Capt. USAF Andrew J. Roberts (wife Trisha) of Destin FL, Timothy I. Roberts (wife Paige) of Glen Ellen, IL, Mark D. Roberts of Denver, CO and son-in-law Phillip Wing and wife (Marianne) of Ft. Smith, AR. 5 great grandchildren also survive. One step-daughter, Beverly Malaga preceded her in death in 2008 as did one step-granddaughter, Robin Malaga, who died in 2001. Also surviving are two step-grandsons, Joe Malaga (wife Susan) of Maui, HI and Steven Malaga (wife Cammie) of San Antonio, TX. During WWII she worked on the assembly line at Caterpillar in Decatur, IL. In 1960 she began a 25 year career in accounting at A.E. Staley. Following her retirement at Staley's she continued to work for 25 years at D.R. Roberts Photography, Decatur, IL before finally retiring at age 90. She was a member of Sunnyside Church of Christ, Decatur, IL. She probably saw more school and athletic events than any woman of her generation. If her children or grandchildren were involved "in it", she wanted to be there. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose entire focus in life was serving God and her family. She will be missed. "Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also" (Prov. 31:28). "
