Walter Morton

Walter Knox Morton, 96, died January 25, 2015, at Piatt County Nursing Home in Monticello, IL. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Cerro Gordo, is handling the arrangements. Knox was born on July 26, 1918 to Charles K. And Sarah (Cornell) Morton. He was a longtime resident of Cerro Gordo, and 70 year member of the Masonic Lodge there. He worked for many years as a custodian for the Cerro Gordo school. Knox enjoyed wood working and a favorite piece of his, a horse drawn covered wagon, is on display at the Hope Welty Public Library in Cerro Gordo. Knox was preceded in death by his wife Mary Gisinger Morton and daughter Karen Sue Morton Carle. "
