Walter Danco

A memorial visitation with private sharing of memories will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home are handling the arrangements.Memorials may be made to: Decatur and Macon County Animal Shelter or Temple Bnai Abraham.Walter was born on February 27, 1928 in Chicago, IL., the son of Emil and Martha (Hanff) Danco. He married Susan Kahn on November 16, 1974 in Decatur, IL.Walter worked for American Hospital Association and served as manager of Healthcare Data. He wrote educational programs and material. Walter was a member of the Millikin Decatur Symphony Guild and a member of Illini Doll and Toy club. He was a member Temple Bnai Abraham, enjoyed working with computer graphics and was a typesetter for All States Club newsletter. Walter was also a supporter of the Decatur Animal Shelter.He is survived by his wife Susan Danco of Decatur, IL.; daughter: Katherine Danco and husband John Hiler of Los Angeles, CA.; sister: Ruth Becker and husband Sherwin of Charlottesville, VA.; granddaughter: Madeleine Frances Hiler of Los Angeles, CA.; and dogs: Lucy and Ginger.Walter is preceded in death by his parents, son: Lawrence, aunt: Emilie Danco, and two dogs: Charley and Jasmine.
