Von Eric Haas, 51, of Decatur, IL, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 11, 2014, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 10, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maroa Cemetery, Maroa, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Von Haas Educational Fund for his daughters. Von was born September 10, 1962 in Rochelle, IL, the son of James R. and Elda (Lembke) Murphy Haas. He married Kim Haas on September 6, 1993 in Las Vegas, NV. Von worked for ADM. He enjoyed being with family, attending car shows, doing crosswords, going to the beach, and especially eating. He is survived by his wife Kim, two daughters Erica and Brianna Haas; son Tyler J. Haas, all of Decatur, IL; father James (Alberta) Haas of Rochelle, IL; sisters Pam (Kelly) Lyle of McLean, IL, Julie (Fred) Graning of Farmer City, IL; brothers Loren (Khristie) Murphy of Farmer City, IL, Ray (Cathy) Murphy of Johnsonville, IL, Tom (Donna Jane) Murphy of Broadhead, WI, Mike Haas of Rochelle, IL; father-in-law LeRoy (Judy) Moyer of Decatur, IL; mother-in-law Janice (Steve) Hager of Decatur, IL. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Eleanor Lembke, mother Elda, stepfather Herschel Murphy, brother David Lee Haas. "
