Vivian Miller

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday (11-01-2010) at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Services will be conducted by Rev. Connie Green and the Rev. Dr. Gary Byrkit. Memorials may be made to: Prairie Avenue Christian Church.Mrs. Miller was born November 25, 1919, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Charles and Lillian VanWinkle Gould. She graduated from Decatur High School as Valedictorian of the Mid-year class of 1937 and attended Millikin University. Mrs. Miller formerly worked at Linn & Scruggs, was a teachers aide of Washington and Progress Schools, and a homemaker. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living member of Prairie Avenue Christian Church. She was a member of the Sunshine Class, Bible Study Class, Deaconness and the Kitchen Committee. She married Floyd H. Miller on October 7, 1939 in the house they had built and raised their family. He preceded her in death December 1965.She is survived by her daughter Janet (David) Geibel of Decatur, IL; son Martin (Sherry) Miller of Orange Park, FL; grandchildren Mark (Limo) Geibel of Chicago, IL, Kent (Leslie) Geibel of Evanston, IL, Liane (Brian) Hannah of Orange Park, FL, Laura (Mike) Alfred of Jacksonville, FL, Angela (Dan) Engel of Bloomington, IL and Sharla Mesnard of Romeoville, IL; great grandchildren Adam and Claire Geibel, Abby and Brandon Hannah, Mason Alfred, Jacob and Bailey Engel; sisters Marie Byrkit of Edmond, OK, Ruth Young of Decatur, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd, daughter Jean Mesnard, her parents, and one sister Helen Robbins.The family appreciates the wonderful care she received at McKinley Court.Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com "
