Virginia “Jenny” R. Wallis, 85, of Mt. Zion, died Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at St. Mary’s Hospital.Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Monday, June 27, 2016, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, with visitation two hours prior to service time. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Oreana.Jenny was born July 8, 1930, in Decatur, the daughter of Harvey and Nettie (Rogers) Gollahon. She married Curtis W. Wallis, Jr. September 18, 1948, in Taylorville, IL. He preceded her in death February 13, 2000. Jenny enjoyed playing bingo with her bingo buddy Doris Tribut, and playing yahtzee with her close friend Fran Morgeson. She was a devoted Cubs fan, and especially enjoyed helping care for and spending quality time with her grandson, Jason.She is survived by her daughters, Mary Buis and husband Roger of Odessa, MO, and Linda Gulley and companion John Kennedy of Mt. Zion; sister, Beverly Waddington and husband Jim of Latham; grandchildren, Brenda (Dan) Ringo of Wentzville, MO, Michael (Anna) Buis of Ft. Worth, TX, Daniel (Samantha) Buis of Rexburg, ID, Lauren (David) Millward of Grain Valley, MO, and Jeffrey and Jason Gulley of Mt. Zion; great grandchildren, Levi, Logan, Jocelyn, Gabriella, and Landon Ringo, Hailey, Carter, Tatum, and Noah Buis, Evan and Maci Buis, and David, Katelynn, Alexis, and Ethan Millward.Jenny was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Donald, Harvey “Skeets”, Robert “Pete”, and Jack, sisters Mary, Grace “Gracie”, and Dixie, and son-in-law Dennis Gulley.
