Virginia M. Trammel, 81, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 4:59 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL Memorials may be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Virginia was born October 4, 1933, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Lloyd and Clara (Grimm) Huffman. She married Ward Trammel on September 7, 1952, in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2005. Virginia was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. She was an assembler at Climate Control retiring in 1996, and previously worked for Borg Warner. Virginia enjoyed crafts, going to lunch with her friends and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed her time at Evergreen Assisted Living, her friends and the trips that she got to go on. Surviving are her children: Chari L. Pilcher of Decatur, IL, Gary L. Trammel of Decatur, IL, Terri H. (Danny) Smothers of Lovington, IL, Jeri E. (Arnie) Jeffers of Decatur, IL; grandchildren: Rachel, Arron, Stephanie, Clint, Tony, Chelsy, Kara, Karlie, and Rose; great-grandchildren: Austin, Aspen, Logan, Hunter, Aiden, Kayden, Landon, and Preston; aunt and uncle: Bette and Bill Koch of Bradenton, FL. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ward, grandson Wesley Smothers, and son-in-law Terry Pilcher. The family wishes to thank the staff of Evergreen Assisted Living and the nurses and doctors at Decatur Memorial Hospital for the loving care given to Virginia. "
