Virginia M. Weber (Borosch) Spengler, 100, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2024.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Our Lady of Lords Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Friedel, Celebrant. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 from 5:00 -7:00 PM at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Memorials in Virginia’s honor may be made to PawPrint Ministries or Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Virginia was born on February 25, 1924, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Clemence F. and Lucile (Jaeger) Weber. She married Louis W. Borosch, Jr. on June 9, 1945. He preceded her in death on August 31, 1947. Virginia later married Joseph Spengler on June 3, 1949. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2007.
She leaves behind sons: Rich (Kathy) Spengler, Peoria, IL. and Jeff (Cathy) Spengler, Decatur, IL; daughters: Sandy (Mack) Wiley, Decatur, IL, Cindy (Tarsh) Setalvad, Manchester, England, and Lindy (Matt) Jennings, Tavares, FL; 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 2 great step-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Auxiliary, DMH Auxiliary, Elk Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and Macon County HCE Club.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; 2 husbands; daughter, Nancy Vaughan; sister, Margaret Younger; 2 grandsons: Brian and Ryan Spengler; and 2 great grandchildren: Jack Wenckus and Chelsea Finklea.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt. She loved to entertain and made sure no one left hungry. She will be sadly missed by all.
The family would like to thank the staff of Imboden Creek Living Center for their loving care over the past 5 years. She thought of everyone there as family.
