Virginia May “Ginger” Michl, 79, of Decatur, passed away January 12 2022, at St. John’s Hospital. Private family services will be held at a later date. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorials in Virginia’s honor can be made to Catholic Charities in Decatur. Virginia was born January 22, 1942 in Decatur, the daughter of Floyd and Vivian (Jones) Beard. She married L.E. Michl on February 12, 1961. He preceded her in death October 12, 2005. Together, Mike and Ginger help found the REACT Chapter in the Decatur area. Virginia worked as a bartender for multiple local bars all over Decatur Illinois for over 30 years. She was a leader of Girl Scout Troop #104. Ginger enjoyed camping, traveling, and was a member of the American Poolplayers Association. She also bowled at pla-Mor Lanes in the 60's.She is survived by her daughter; Linda Ann Davidson; sisters: Joan (Jim) Grandon, Evelyn (Gary) Wiltermood; 2 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, and significant other; Ron “Mac” McGeorgeVirginia is preceded in death by her parents; husband: L.E. “Mike” Michl; sister, Dixie Owens; brother, James Beard; mother-in-law, Zelma Taylor; and her favorite son-in-law, Archie Davidson.Condolences and memories may be shared with the family in care of Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes at www.brintlingerandearl.com.
