Virginia Marie Ferre, 81, of Decatur, IL, passed away 8:37 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur, IL.Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m, Monday, February 15, 2016, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation from 11:30 till service time at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL at a later date. Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church.Virginia was born October 3, 1934, in Decatur, the daughter of Netha and Wallace Rice. She married Guy Ferre on December 4, 1960. He preceded her in death in June 2007. Virginia went business school before becoming employed with the IRS. She was a member of Central Christian Church. Virginia loved her church and was always grateful for the people who picked her up for church. She also loved going to Benny’s Grill on Pershing Rd. after church on Sunday. She is survived by her goddaughter Laura (Nathan) Sugarman of Evansville, IN; sister-in-law Ruth Rice of Sun Lakes, AZ; close friends Bob & Arline Causey of Decatur, Eleanor VanNatta of Newburgh, IN.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Guy, brothers Lawrence and William.
