Virginia Mae Arnold, 103, of Decatur, IL, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Long Point Cemetery, Niantic, IL. Memorials may be made to: Sharon United Methodist Church or DMH Hospice. Virginia was born January 21, 1913, in Niantic, IL, daughter of George L.B. and Rose E. (Teel) Miller. She married Charles Wesley Arnold, on November 23, 1935, in Taylorville, IL. He preceded her in death. Virginia was a member of Niantic Methodist Church. She was previously employed by Decatur Memorial Hospital in central supply as a tech and after retiring, worked one on one providing home health care to many ladies. Virginia was a member of LA of the ATA, and enjoyed embroidery, crochet, quilting and looked forward to reading the Decatur Tribune. She liked to bake cranberry breads and make homemade noodles to give to her neighbors. Surviving are her daughter: Karon (Dan) Downs of Decatur, IL; son-in-law: Stuart Boliek; daughter-in-law: Linda Arnold; grandchildren: Gina (Ron) Ashby of Edwardsville, IL, Mollie Boliek (Darren) Crews of Washington State, and Charles Wesley Arnold of Tennessee; great-granddaughter: Claire Ashby; many nieces and nephews. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Herman Dettman, husband, daughter Mary Boliek, son John Wesley Arnold, grandson Kelly Boliek, two brothers and one sister. "
