Virginia Alsup

Virginia M. Alsup, 92, of Warrensburg, died Monday, March 28, 2016, at Fair Havens Christian Home. Visitation will be 4-6 P.M. Friday, April 1, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. A private family graveside service will be held at Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg. Memorials may be made to the Warrensburg United Methodist Church or the Warrensburg Volunteer Fire Department. Virginia was born October 30, 1923, in Warrensburg, the daughter of Clarence C. and Norma B. (Marshall) Rau. She married Marion D. Alsup on March 2, 1944, in Texas. He preceded her in death. Virginia was very active in Home Extension, and was a past president. She was previously an active member of Harmony United Methodist Church, where she played the piano and the organ. She was more recently an active member of Warrensburg United Methodist Church. Virginia is survived by her children: Carol A. Myers of Warrensburg and her daughter Brandee Jones of Latham; Harold E. Alsup and wife Patricia of Decatur and their daughter Jamie Dubson and husband Jeremy of Decatur; Allen R. Alsup and wife Pamela of Warrensburg and their children Amanda Phillips of Bloomington, Matthew Alsup of Bloomington, and Emily Bailey and husband Ryan of Nokomis; 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother William Rau. The family would like to thank Fair Havens Christian Home for all their care and service. "
