Violet Vording, 94, of Decatur, IL, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 24, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Memorials may be made to Donor’s Choice.Violet was born April 27, 1923, in Pocahontas, IL, the daughter of Wilford and Anna (Belmar) Decrevel. She married James E. Vording on June 14, 1942. He preceded her in death on August 18, 1986.Violet was the owner/operator for over 20 years of Brettwood Beauty Salon in Decatur. She was an artist, enjoyed crafts, boating, being outdoors, and loved playing the slots. She was a Past President of Professional Beauty Association.She is survived by her daughter Dianna Puckett; grandchildren Shelly, Tom, Linda, Wendy, all of Decatur, IL; 6 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son David, granddaughter Debbie, daughter-in-law Gloria, brothers Willie & Jimmy, and sister Alice. "
