Violet Fern Henon, 81, of Decatur, IL, formerly of Oreana, IL, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Decatur Memorial Hospital, with her family by her side. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at First Church of the Nazarene, 1177 W. Hickory Point Rd., Decatur, IL. Visitation will be 4 - 7:00 PM Monday, February 18, 2013 at the church. Burial will be at Wheeler Cemetery, Decatur, IL. The Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home has been entrusted to care for arrangements. Memorials: Charity of the Donor's Choice. Violet was born January 31, 1932 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Walter and Nellie Viola (Bradley) Lucas. She married Jack Thomas Henon on April 14, 1950 in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death February 24, 2010. Violet was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed cooking, collecting cats, going to flea markets, working in the garden, and traveling. Surviving are her daughter, Vicky Evans of Oreana, IL; son, Rick Henon and wife Paula of Decatur, IL; three granddaughters, Kim (Ian) Wickline of Bloomington, IL, Jolene (Chris) Kovach of Decatur, IL, Jacklyn (Greg) Farr of Mt. Zion, IL; one great-grandson, Christopher; one great-granddaughter, Chesney; brother-in-law, Leon Drew of Decatur, IL; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Doris Bailey. Preceding her in death are her parents; husband; one son, Randy; one brother, James; two sisters, Velma and Rosemary; and son-in-law, Ronald Evans. The family would like to thank the staff of McKinley Court, Decatur Memorial Hospital doctors, 4th floor staff and ICU, for the loving care given to Violet during her journey. "
