Viola Linton

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 7 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.Memorials may be made to Oak Grove Church of the Nazarene.Viola was born March 10, 1925, in St. Elmo, IL, the daughter of John Eldon and Ruth Alone Grubaugh. She married Harold Dean Linton on May 23, 1945, in Vandalia, IL. He preceded her in death on August 5, 2002.Viola was a charter member of Oak Grove Church of the Nazarene.Surviving are her children Karen Sue Brown and husband David of Monticello, IL, Dennis Dean Linton of Macon, IL, and David Dean Linton of Decatur, IL. Also surviving are her grandchildren Joshua Linton, Jason Linton, great grandson Dakota Linton; sisters Fern Weber and husband Royal of Nokomis, IL, and Helen Pat Doyle of Vandalia, IL.Viola was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold Dean Linton, brothers John Grubaugh, William Charles Grubaugh, and sisters Lois Imogene Payne and Mary Lou Epps.Viola was a beloved mother and precious friend to all.
