Viola M. Hughes, 81, of Decatur, IL, died 12:05 A.M., Friday, March 2, 2012, at Fair Havens Christian Home, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 6 to 8 P.M., Tuesday, March 6, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church or Southern Baptist Children's Home in Carmi, IL. Viola was born October 1, 1930, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Tyre Lee and Mary Martha (Bird) Crawley. She married Robert David Hughes on April 24, 1955 in Decatur, IL. Viola was a member of Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church. She was a Lifetime Member, PTA President and crossing guard for 3 years at Washington School. Viola was a Den Mother in Cub Scouts and also enjoyed making crafts. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert, of Decatur, IL; children Christopher John Hughes and wife Patricia of Decatur, IL, Dennis Lee Hughes and wife Dianna of Victoria, TX, Craig Steven Hughes of Decatur, IL; brother Donald L. Crawley of Forestell, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son Kevin David. "
