Victor Lash

October 18, 1947 — November 18, 2014

Victor Eugene Lash, 67, of Decatur, IL, passed away on November 18, 2014, at McKinley Court Nursing Home in Decatur, IL. Vic was born on October 18, 1947, in Brownstown, IL, to Raymond Floyd and Alda Jennie (Crawford) Lash. His parents preceded him in death, along with sister Carolyn McCollough. Vic is survived by his daughter Lundee Corman of Decatur, IL; his son George (Shawn) Harre of Marseilles, IL; brother Bud Lash of Bethany; sister Evelyn Lash of Modesto, CA; and sister Susan Pruett of Sparks, NV; grandchildren Raegan Earles, Randee Earles, Macy Harre, Justin Harre, and AJ Neuhaus. His family would like to thank Dr. Velasco and the staff at Cancer Care Center and McKinley Court for their support and care during his illness. Vic was employed at Bridgestone/Firestone for 32 years. During his retirement, he enjoyed the outdoors whether he was mowing, gardening, blowing the leaves off the driveway, washing his truck, or riding his Harley. He fed every bird, squirrel, and stray cat in the neighborhood. A special thanks to Vic's neighbors who would always check-in on him, for if he wasn't outside, they knew he didn't feel well that day. He was a very caring, giving person who enjoyed helping others. He did much more for others than he did for himself. In compliance with Vic's wishes, he will be cremated, there will be no visitation or services. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL will be assisting the family. Vic will be truly missed. He was a very loving father, grandfather, and brother, much loved by his family and friends. It's now his time to "go on home and kick back." "
