Vickie L. Hofferkamp, 64, of Decatur, IL, died unexpectedly Sunday, February 26, 2012, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL, with her family by her side. Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 6 to 8 P.M., Friday, March 2, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Harristown Cemetery, Harristown, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Homeward Bound Animal Shelter. Vickie was born July 30, 1947 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Victor and Opal (Sullivan) Childers. She married the love of her life, Rodney J. Hofferkamp in Illiopolis in 1966. He preceded her in death in 2005. Vickie was a graduate of Decatur Memorial Nursing School and worked as an RN in the hemo dialysis unit in Decatur, IL. She enjoyed going to all of her granddaughters sporting events and school activities. Her family completed her world. She is survived by her daughter Rikki ( Christopher) Whitney of Harristown, IL; granddaughters Kelsy and Kristina Whitney of Harristown, IL; sister Karen S. (Lynn) Troute of Springfield, IL; brother-in-law John Hofferkamp of Arizona; and her beloved cat, Koko. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Rodney. "
