Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 6 to 8 P.M., Monday, Janaury 25, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Decatur & Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation.Vernon was born January 16, 1930, in Keokuk, IA, the son of Vernon, Sr. and Maxine (King) Talbott. He married Nancy Freeland in September 1957 in Decatur, IL. She preceded him in death on January 13, 2004.Vernon co-owned Music Box Record Store during the late 1950's, worked at Borg Warner in Quality Control and also at Burkes Pump, taught at Institute of Labor and Industrial Relations at University of Illinois and also taught at Millikin University. He owned Talbott Labor Management Consulting and most recently was Decatur Township Road Commissioner. Vernon loved jazz music and art, and enjoyed creating modern art. He enjoyed playing tennis, watching Broadway musical and movies, feeding the birds and loved his seven cats. He is survived by his daughter Melissa Talbott and grandchildren Allison and Samantha Greaney, all of Eureka, MO.He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Nancy. "
