Verneal Jane Fryman, 85, was called to heaven on Friday, October 16, 2015 in Decatur, Illinois. Funeral services will be 3:00pm Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur, IL with a visitation from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Burial will be in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to Fair Havens Christian Home. Verneal Jane was born in Decatur, Illinois on December 24, 1929, the daughter of John Ralph and Bertha Newberry Rentfro. She married William Franklin Fryman on January 9, 1949 in Decatur, Illinois. After 65 years of marriage, William passed away in 2014. Verneal Jane was a proud homemaker, caring for her husband and her children. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, genealogy, and family camping trips. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Verneal Jane also liked sewing and crafts. She crocheted each grandchild a special afghan when they were born. She is survived by sons, William Michael (Diane) Fryman, Douglas (Dina) Fryman, John (Patricia) Fryman, Steven (Becky) Fryman, all of Decatur; and daughter-in-law, Linnea Fryman-Viniard of Calvert City, KY; 9 grandchildren, Kelly (Adam) Milledge of Plymouth, MN, Ellen (Melvin) Bower of Carbondale, IL, Hillary Fryman (Roger Alexander, fiancé) of Springfield, IL, Molly Fryman of Oxford, MS, Matthew Fryman of Decatur, IL, Bradley Fryman of Normal, IL, Connor Fryman of Decatur, IL, William Fryman of Calvert City, KY, and Tiffany Fryman of Decatur, IL; 3 great-grandchildren, Brennan Bower, Lillian and Henry Alexander. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Virginia Alexander of Smyrna, TN, and 3 nieces, Cecilia (Dick) Peach of Smyrna, TN, Nancy (Robert) Krieger and Teri (Randy) Meece, both of Decatur, IL. Mrs. Fryman was also preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter, son, Thomas Fryman, and three brothers, Loren, Lyle, and Keith. Verneal Jane's family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Fair Havens Christian Home and Safe Haven Hospice for lovingly caring for Verneal. The family would also like to express their thanks to the drivers from the Decatur Public Transit who transported her to her many appointments.
