Vernagene (Jean) Sank 88, of Havana, Il (Formerly of Decatur) passed away December 29, 2015 at Mason District Hospital. Jean was born April 13, 1927 in Boynton township, Tazewell County the daughter of Frank & Fannie (Luken) Herhamer. She married Robert Sank, March 10, 1947. He passed away January 8, 2007.Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, January 4, 2016, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be 4-7 P.M. Sunday, January 3, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials may be made to the Lutheran School Association. Surviving is her son, Dennis Sank (Karen) of Havana and 2 grandsons Jason Sank (Nicole) and Jared Sank (Katie). She also leaves behind 6 Great-grandchildren and her sister, Loretta Arnold. Her husband Robert and her 2 brothers Dan and Bill Norton preceded her. Jean had been an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church. She drove a school bus for the Lutheran school for 30 plus years. She also worked at Houran’s Ben Franklin in South Shores. Jean was a member of NARFE, enjoyed ceramics, and loved working in her flower gardens. "
