Vercie Eaton, 92, of Decatur, went to her heavenly home at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Imboden Creek Living Center.Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Thusday, April 17, 2008 at Bethel Bible Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Zion General Baptist Cemetery, Allenville, IL.Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Vercie was born March 12, 1916, in Monroe County, Kentucky, the daughter of William Clay and Lucy Jane (Crowe) England. She married James R. Eaton on November 27, 1933, in Charleston, IL. He preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 1986.Vercie was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Bible Church and of the Golden Jubilee Membership. She volunteered at Love Unlimited for many years.Surviving are her children Lenora Imogene Woods and husband Clyde of Clark, MO; Sandra Elgene Stone and husband William of Vero Beach, FL; Marilyn Kay Hart and husband Robert of Illiopolis, IL; James Russell Eaton and wife Mary of Clinton, MO; Kenneth Edward Eaton and wife Deborah of Mesa, AZ; 13 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother Cecil England of Salem, IL; sisters Ola Hampton of Bethany, IL; Pauline Harl of Sullivan, IL; Edith Krause of Lakewood, CO; and Mary Shuman of Plano, TX; also many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.Vercie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, great grandson, three brothers, and one sister.She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
